Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Fermion Inc. (“we”) handles information in MathPoint, including the PowerPoint and Word add-in, the MCP server, and related web pages (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your Google account email address, display name, profile image URL, and your MathPoint user ID.
- AI connection records: the name of each AI client you connect, when it was connected or disconnected, and authorization tokens (refresh tokens are stored only as hashes).
- Usage records: the month and a hash of each source you typeset, used to count the free quota.
- Typesetting content: the LaTeX, TikZ, or table source you or your AI send for typesetting, images sent for redrawing figures, and the output (SVG, PDF, PNG).
- Activity feed: recent operations shown in the task pane (operation names, typeset images and sources). Kept only in server memory and cleared on restart.
- Technical data: IP address, access time, and request type, logged for operation and abuse prevention. We also keep daily counts of how many people reach each setup step (page views, installs, sign-ins), without storing IP addresses.
When your AI reads your slides or document, the content passes through the Service to the AI you connected. We do not store it on our servers.
2. How we use it
To provide the Service (sign-in, AI connections, typesetting, and editing your slides and documents), apply usage limits such as the free quota, prevent abuse and keep the Service secure, investigate and fix problems, answer inquiries, and provide and bill the paid plan. We do not use your information for advertising or to train AI models.
3. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. We use these providers only as needed to run the Service:
- Supabase (database and sign-in; Tokyo region)
- Google (sign-in with Google)
- OVHcloud (server hosting; United States)
- Stripe (payments for the paid plan; Stripe processes card data and we do not keep it)
The AI you connect (such as Anthropic's Claude or OpenAI's ChatGPT) receives slide or document content and typeset output when you ask it to work on them; the AI provider's own policy applies to that data. We do not share information with anyone else except as required by law.
4. Retention
- Account information, AI connection records, and usage records: until you delete your account (billing records for the period required by law).
- Typesetting sources and output: up to 30 days.
- Activity feed: until the server restarts (at most the latest 60 items).
- Technical logs: as long as needed for operation, normally no more than 90 days.
5. Your choices and rights
On the account page you can disconnect AI clients and delete your account. Deleting your account erases your account information, connection records, usage records, and the typesetting sources and output we keep. To request access, correction, or that we stop using your information, contact us below.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in (mp_session, 90 days) and to secure the sign-in flow (mp_pkce, 10 minutes). The task pane stores display preferences and sign-in tokens in the browser. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, hashed tokens, and isolated typesetting (TeX runs in a sandbox with no network access).
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13.
9. Changes
We will post changes to this policy on this page, and notify you of significant changes by email or another appropriate means.
